How to find duplicate clients

Bookem usually matches online bookings with existing client profiles. But if there are small differences in details like email, mobile number or name, a new profile may be created. This can result in separate booking histories, accounts and notes.

How to avoid duplicate client profiles

  • Make sure the email address and mobile number match exactly

  • For online bookings, both email and mobile are required which helps reduce duplicate profiles

  • If the name is slightly different (about 80% similar) but the email and mobile are the same → the existing profile is used

  • A new profile is created when:

    - The same name is used but the email or mobile is different

    - A different name is used even if the email and mobile are the same

How to find duplicate clients

  1. Go to Clients

  2. Click the Find duplicate clients button at the top right

  3. Choose the identifiers you'd like to use (name, email, cellphone)

  4. Click Search

  5. You'll see a list of possible duplicates. Click to open and review profiles that may need merging
